COMCEC praises Iran in its final communiqué

The 29th ministerial meeting of Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in its final communiqué, praised Iran for holding the 14th Exhibition of Islamic countries in Tehran.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In the 2-day meeting, ministers of Economic and Trade as well as senior economic officials from 57 members countries, including Iranˈs Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Neˈmatzadeh participated.

Turkeyˈs Minister of Planning and Programming Judat Yilmaz said in the afternoon session that participants exchanged views on trade, agriculture, transportation, reducing poverty, tourism, trade preferential agreements and financial cooperation among member states of OIC and in some cases reached an understanding.

He added that participants also reached agreements in the field of cooperation among exchange markets and central banks of the member states.

While appreciating Iran for holding the exhibition on November 1, 2013, COMCEC called members to follow up issues of the fair and to hold other exhibitions in other Islamic states.

The final communiqué asked Islamic Development Bank and Islamic Trade Center to offer technical assistance to the member states for joining to the World Trade Organization.

COMCEC was founded in 1984 with the aim of developing and creating coordination in economic and trade cooperation between member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation(OIC).
